Finding a Car

Does CarDeals4u own the cars I see online or are they owned by other individuals and dealers?

CarDeals4u owns every car we sell, and all the cars on our website are physically located at one of our CarDeals4u stores.

How do you choose the cars that you sell?

We dig deep into every car’s history to rule out any car with flood damage, frame damage, or salvage history. Any car that can’t meet our Clean Title Guarantee gets sold at auction — not to you. Cars must also pass a 125+ point inspection and undergo a detailed reconditioning to be sold at CarDeals4u. Some CarDeals4u cars have open safety recalls; here’s what you should know about that.

What does it mean that all CarDeals4u cars are CarDeals4u Quality Certified?

Every car we sell is CarDeals4u Quality Certified, which means no flood or frame damage, and no salvage history. In addition, it means a car has passed our 125+ point inspection and undergone a detailed reconditioning process. A small sample of our 125+ point inspection includes checking all engine components and associated systems for proper operation, leaks, abnormal noises, corrosion, bad connections, or excessive wear. Tires and wheels must pass an inspection and are replaced when wear exceeds state or local law. Some CarDeals4u cars have open safety recalls; here’s what you should know about that.

Do you ever sell cars “as-is”?

None of the cars we buy are ever sold to you “as-is.” In addition to replacing worn parts found during our 125+ point inspection, we spend an average of 15 hours renewing each car. When it comes to the exterior, we pull out dimples, buff and color-match scratches, restore headlights, and repair discoloration caused by acid or oxidation. Inside, we remove stains, repair holes or tears, remove debris from all surfaces and hard to reach places, and repair or replace any excessively worn carpet. These are only a few examples from our extensive renewal checklist. Some CarDeals4u cars have open safety recalls; here’s what you should know about that.

Does CarDeals4u fix open safety recalls?

Some of our cars may have unrepaired safety recalls on them. With few exceptions, CarDeals4u is not authorized to repair open safety recalls. Under the current recall system, open safety recalls may only be fixed by a manufacturer’s authorized dealers. This means a Honda owner must work with an authorized Honda dealer, and a Toyota owner must work with an authorized Toyota dealer to fix open safety recalls. The exceptions to this are at our new car stores, where we are manufacturer-authorized for the new car makes we sell at those stores; any unrepaired safety recalls on vehicles for those new car makes are addressed at our new car stores before vehicles are sold.
CarDeals4u does, however, help you discover if the used car you want to buy has an open recall, so you can make plans to have the recall(s) repaired with an authorized dealer, which is required to fix unrepaired safety recalls at no cost to you. What tools do you have to help me find the right car for me and my budget?

There are several tools to help you find and buy your next car. You can use our car payment calculator to estimate a budget, or get pre-qualified to help you know which inventory meets your actual budget. You can also drop by any time or schedule an appointment to get a free trade-in offer for your current car, which can be applied to your down payment.
When you create a MyCarDeals4u account, you can save favorite cars, save specific search criteria, and set up alerts so you always know as soon as a car you like is added to our inventory.
In addition to our great online tools, our people are ready to answer any questions you have. Because our associates are paid the same regardless of a car’s price, their goal is always helping, not selling.

Can I be notified when cars I like are added to your inventory?

Yes. By saving your searches, you can sit back and let us notify you when the perfect car is added to our inventory. To save a search, use the “Save Search” link located above your first search result. If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to create a My CarDeals4u account, where you can adjust the frequency of your saved-search inventory alerts.

Can I save my favorite cars to a list I can view later?

Yes. There are two ways to save a car to a list of favorites. On your search results list, choose the “Save” button located on the bottom right of each search result. On the car detail page, choose the “Save to Favorites” link to the right of the main photo. If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to create a My CarDeals4u account, where you can access your personal favorites list, easily compare car pricing and features, and stay updated on a car’s availability.

If I find a car I like online, can I see it in person before I make a decision?

Yes. You deserve to have total confidence in your decision before you purchase a car. Every car you see online is located at a CarDeals4u store and can be seen in person and test driven prior to buying.

Do I need to make an appointment to browse cars at the store?

You never need an appointment to browse cars at CarDeals4u.

Seeing a Car

Do I have to buy a car if I reserve it, have it shipped from another store, or test drive it?

No. You are never obligated to buy a vehicle because you reserve it, have it shipped, or test drive it. Please note that if you have a car shipped over a long distance, it may require store-to-store shipping fees, and those fees are non-refundable.

I found a car I want to see online. How can I reserve it so no one else buys it?

You can reserve any car for up to seven days. On the car’s page, choose the “Free Hold,” or “Get Started” link (which link you see depends on where you are located), and then choose the date and time you’d like to come see the car. During your visit, you can take it for a test drive and see if it’s the right car for you.

How can I see a car in person that isn’t in my area?

We can ship almost any car in our inventory to the closest CarDeals4u location near you. In some cases, a shipping fee may apply but we’ll let you know ahead of time.

What do shipping fees cover?

The fee covers the cost of the transportation. Shipping fees are separate from the cost of your vehicle and payment is required prior to shipping. For payment, we accept cash, credit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), or check. A CarDeals4u associate will assist with the payment arrangements.

I want a car from another location and there’s a shipping fee. When is payment due?

If you make your request online, we will call you to confirm your store-to-store shipping request and payment will be due at that time. If you are at one of our stores, payment will be due at the time of your request. For payment, we accept cash, credit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), or check. A CarDeals4u associate will assist with the payment arrangements.

How long does store-to-store shipping take?

Depending on the distance between your car’s current location and the closest CarDeals4u store to you, it will take between one and 28 days. Once the car ships, we’ll keep you updated on its journey.

Why are some cars non-transferable?

Some states require possession of a complete and valid title before shipping can begin, making a vehicle non-transferable. Other states restrict transfers based on mileage or emissions. We are also unable to ship new vehicles or Toyota Certified Used Vehicles from our stores that sell new cars. All non-transferrable cars may be viewed and purchased from the store where they are currently located.

How do I schedule a test drive?

You can reserve the car you’re interested in for a specific appointment time online or by phone. Online, go to the car’s individual detail page. You will see either a “Free Hold” or “Get Started” link. Choose that link and follow the prompts to select the date and time for your visit.

Where can I test drive?

You can test cars at any CarDeals4u location. In select markets, test drives can be delivered to your home or work. If you are shopping online and your location is set to one of these select markets, delivery options will be displayed automatically.

Buying a Car

Can I buy a car online?

Although you cannot complete a car-buying transaction online, there are many steps you can take online to prepare to buy a car. On your car’s individual detail page, you can:

  • Reserve the car you’re interested in for up to 7 days
  • Request that a car in another location be brought to your local store (fees and exclusions may apply)
  • Review your car’s free AutoCheck® vehicle history report
  • Check for open safety recalls on specific cars

You may also apply for financing and schedule an appointment online to get a free trade-in offer.

What documentation do I need to buy a car?

To complete your transaction, you may be required to provide any or all of the following:

Documentation not listed above may also be required. Your sales consultant will be able to tell you what documentation you will actually need.

When is my down payment due?

Your down payment is due at the time of purchase. If you decide a car isn’t right for you, you’re covered under our 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee. We can either transfer your down payment to another vehicle, or issue you a full refund.

Can I use a credit card for a down payment?

We do not accept credit cards for down payments but do accept the following: cash, debit card, or personal checks that reflect your correct name and address.

Can I split my down payment into multiple payments?

Your down payment is separate from the amount you are choosing to finance, so it must be paid in full at the time of purchase.

Do I have to have insurance if I buy a car?

Yes. All customers must show proof of insurance when buying a car. You will either need to provide evidence of existing coverage or a VIN-specific binder. A binder is the temporary insurance provided by an insurance company that covers you while your new policy is being created and issued.

What is the lien holder address for insurance purposes?

If you’re financing with CarDeals4u Auto Finance, the lien holder address is P.O. Box 440609, Kennesaw, GA 30160. If you’re financing elsewhere, the CarDeals4u associate helping with the sale of your car can assist you with locating that information.

What happens if I return my car within the 7-day return period?

If you need to return your car for any reason within seven days of your purchase, you’ll receive a full refund and we can help you find a better fit. Your down payment can easily transfer over to any car you choose, but if you decide not to buy a different car, we’ll issue a full refund for that amount. Depending on the form of payment you used, we’ll either issue the refund back the same way, or you’ll leave with payment in hand.

Selling a Car

Can I sell my car to CarDeals4u without buying a car from CarDeals4u?

Yes, and our offer will be the same whether you’re buying from us or not.

Do I need an appointment to get an offer on my car?

No, you never need an appointment to get an offer for your car. However, an appointment will ensure that we have you in and out in as little time as possible.

Can I get an offer for my car online?

In select markets, trade-in offers can be provided online. If your location is set to one of these markets, the online option will automatically be displayed in the Sell Your Car section of our website.

Do I have to sell my car at the same location that gave me an offer?

You may sell your car at any CarDeals4u location with the same written offer for seven days. If your appraisal was completed more than seven days ago, we will re-appraise your car and provide an updated offer.

How do you determine my offer?

We review current market conditions as well as your car’s specific year, make, model, mileage, and vehicle history report. We examine your car’s condition inside and out for major defects like frame or flood damage. We also test drive your car and check to see if the brakes and turn signals are working (among other things). If repairs are needed, we may adjust our offer accordingly. In regards to cleanliness, the long-term maintenance and care of your car is what’s most important in determining our appraisal offer.

What do I need to sell my car?

Requirements can vary from state to state, but there are a few items you’ll need no matter where you are:

  • Your car’s title or payoff information. All titleholders should be present.
  • Valid and current registrations
  • Valid state-issued photo ID for all title holders.
  • All keys and remotes

Please note that you don’t need these things to get an offer for your car, but if you think you plan to sell when you get your offer, you should come prepared with these items.

How do I get paid for my car?

You will leave with payment in hand the same day you sell us your car. We pay with a bank draft, which is a type of check where payment is guaranteed to be available by the issuing bank. A bank draft must be deposited and cannot be cashed. Before attempting to draw on the bank draft, always check with your bank to see if they have a specific hold policy on deposits.

What if I owe more on my car than the amount of your offer?

If your payoff amount is more than the offer for your car, the difference is called "negative equity." In some cases, the negative equity can be included in your financing when you buy a CarDeals4u car. If not, we'll calculate the difference between your pay-off and our offer to you and you can pay CarDeals4u directly. If the amount you owe is less than $250, we will accept a personal check. CarDeals4u stores accept cashier’s checks, certified checks, certified funds, cash, and debit cards. CarDeals4u Car Buying Centers (locations that only buy cars) can accept cashier’s checks, certified checks, and certified funds. Our written offers are good for seven days, giving you time to get any necessary funds to settle your transaction.

Do you buy leased cars?

Yes! In most cases, you can sell your leased car in almost the same way as any other financed car. We'll appraise the car, then contact the leasing company for a payoff quote and process any equity you might have. Please note that some leasing companies will not allow you to sell the car prior to the expiration of the lease. Also, be aware that your leased car might not be eligible for trade-in tax savings. Check with your leasing company for complete details.

Can I sell a car on behalf of a company?

If you would like to sell a car on behalf of a company, please see a Business Office associate for the requirements needed.
